Position: Garde Manger, Meat/Grill Station and Banquets
    
Example of Responsibilities:
- Learn to prepare and coordinate the production of all cold food items in order to maintain high standards of quality; contemporary styles of presenting food and preparation of buffets.
-Learn preparation of products such as savory items, entrees; culinary knife skills and cuts; product tasting, station organization, egg cookery, small sauce production, and protein cookery such as braising, stewing, roasting, sauteing, broiling, grilling, and poaching.
-Learn traditional and contemporary banquet menus with an emphasis on quality, quantity, setup, timing, service; scaling recipes for large volume production.
-Organizing the preparation, storage, and delivery of volume production for buffet tables; preparation of contemporary American banquets, classical cuisine banquets, hot and cold buffet stations, special events and various styles of service. 
    
Requirements:
  • Good English Skills
  • previous experience in 4 or 5* hotel
  •  Minimum of one year culinary experience or relevant internship.
  • Line experience or banquet experience preferred. 
  • Would like a candidate with solid culinary knowledge who is comfortable in the kitchen.

Salary: $10/hr
Start: Immediately 
Duration: 12 months

In 1909, the Strand Palace Hotel was born. Built as an Art Deco showpiece, the hotel soon became the place to be seen either as a guest, or at social gatherings. Some of the original architecture can still be seen today, and has featured in several movies and television period dramas. The hotel entrance’s ‘revolving doors’ now feature as part of an art deco exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
During the 2nd World War the Hotel was predominantly used by American armed forces before they went into action. Over the years many retired service personnel have returned to relive their memories, and today their families and relatives still visit the hotel.

In 2007, the Hotel began a multimillion pound refurbishment program following investment from our current owners, London and Regional (L&R) to restore it to its original splendor. Since then extensive work has been carried out on Bedrooms, Meeting rooms, Catering outlets, Public areas and the exterior of the building.
