Electronic Technician (requires a high level of troubleshooting and repair skills)
Electronic Technician’s provide technical and maintenance support to Schlumberger field teams to help them deliver efficient and effective quality services to their clients. The Electronic Technician is responsible for the maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of all electronic, electric and computer based equipment in accordance with local and Schlumberger safety standards and guidelines. Various levels of maintenance and troubleshooting skills are required in the Electronic Technician positions across the different Schlumberger divisions such as basic troubleshooting to micro-component repair. Electronic Technicians receive intense training in troubleshooting Schlumberger’s highly technical equipment, technical procedures and safety. They will attend their initial Schlumberger technical training course within 6 months of employment. The initial training course will be 4 to 6 weeks in length and is for the employee only as it is 6 days a week with projects and the weekends. When applicable, Electronic Technicians will also train and develop mechanical troubleshooting skills and abilities to better support their team. Electronic Technician’s are expected to develop rapidly and will assume a great deal of responsibility early in their career. They must also have a high degree of independence, the ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to work in varying conditions.
Requirements are:
• AS or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology
• Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0
• Valid driving license and an acceptable driving record
• The legal right to work in the United States.
